Marilyn Swygert, PT, MHS
Marilyn Swygert, PT, MHS graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She obtained her Masters of Health Science at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Prior to opening her private practice in 1982, she worked for eight years at MUSC Hospital and Roper Hospital where she specialized in treatment of neurological disorders. Marilyn has earned her specialty certification in manual therapy.
She has been appointed by the Governor to the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
She served as president and vice president of the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association. She has served as chair of the Public Advisory Board of the MUSC College of Health Professions. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Her responsibilities as co-owner of Charleston Physical Therapy, P.A. include administration and patient care.
Jesse McGrady, PT
Jesse McGrady, PT attended Charleston Southern University and College of Charleston receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Bachelor of Science in physical therapy in 1979 from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Prior to opening his private practice in 1982, he worked as a staff physical therapist then as director of physical therapy for Charleston Memorial Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. In addition to his private practice, he worked as director of physical therapy for Sea Island Home Health for 19 years.
He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Rehabilitation Associates Network. He presently continues to practice physical therapy with experience in manual therapy and orthopedic problems. Other areas of experience include neurological problems and amputees. He is also an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association as well as the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association.
Katie Houston PT, DPT
Katie Houston received her master’s and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
She has worked in private practice for 5 years with Charleston Physical Therapy, and she has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 7 years. In addition to treating patients, she acts as the facility’s Clinical Coordinator for Clinical Education.
Katie has earned her specialty certification in manual physical therapy. She also has advanced training in the treatment of TMJ/TMD, aquatic physical therapy, and augmented soft tissue mobilization (ASTYM).
Ann Boykin, DPT, MTC
Ann Boykin received her master’s and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She has worked in private practice for 5 years.
Ann has earned her specialty certification in manual physical therapy and Pilates training for physical therapists. She has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 7 years and the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association for 5 years.
Michelle Kenney, PTA
Michelle Kenney received her Associates of Science Degree for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program from Trident Technical College in 1993.
Michelle has worked at Charleston Physical Therapy for 18 years. She has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association 15 years. She has successfully completed the APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program in 2006. She has also received an award for 2006 Clinical Instructor of the year.
Graham Wade, PT, DPT
Graham Wade received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Presbyterian College. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
He is an active member of the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition, he is a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. He has previously worked in the golf business with special interests in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Jodie Rush, PT, DPT
Jodie Rush received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, Jodie graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Nutrition. Jodie has clinical experience in both out-patient as well as acute care settings. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Asssociation and the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association.
